Short Game Description

A precision-based platformer focused on pacing and timing. Players must navigate levels where platforms periodically disappear and reappear, with platform collision intact. During these moments, players gain the ability to double jump, giving them the ability to cross platforms and avoid enemies. Success depends on mastering the "glitch" and timing.

How the Game Fits the Jam Theme

This game embraces the theme through its “glitch” mechanic. The disappearing platforms are a glitch and are unlike commonly seen platformers. Even so, the glitch turns into a feature as it gives the player the temporary ability to double jump during the platform invisibility. The player must adapt to the invisibility and use it as a tool instead of a weakness.

Dev Notes / Reflection

When creating this project, I focused on creating a simple game that brings players an enjoyable experience. I used the unique theme to create a mechanic that was never seen before and was centred around timing and player adaptation. The glitch system was designed to feel both challenging and rewarding, encouraging players to think differently about platforming. Play testers and playing the game myself helped keep the gameplay fair and balanced.
